Job Description
Financial Analyst supporting reporting, forecasting, and close activities at Brightspeed. Delivering insights for a fiber internet provider’s strategic and operational decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute recurring financial reports, dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting packages
- Analyze financial and operational results to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities
- Provide meaningful insights and recommendations to leadership
- Partner with Finance, Sales & Marketing, Operations, IT, and other business functions on forecast assumptions, drivers, and variances
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close reporting through variance analysis and management commentary
- Maintain and leverage financial accounting and reporting systems
- Assist with ad hoc financial analyses, executive presentations, and strategic initiatives
- Improve financial reporting, month-end close, and analytical capabilities through process enhancements and automation
- Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to support informed business decisions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field required
- 3+ years of experience in corporate finance, accounting, financial reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or a related analytical finance role
- Strong understanding of financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis
- Experience with accounting and reporting systems such as SAP, Hyperion/Essbase, or similar ERP platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret complex financial information and translate it into actionable business insights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present financial information to finance and non-finance audiences
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work in a primarily office-based hybrid or corporate office environment
- Preferred: Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (MBA), or related field
- Preferred: CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification
- Preferred: Experience in telecommunications, technology, or infrastructure industry
- Preferred: Experience supporting enterprise planning, executive reporting, or management reporting functions
- Preferred: Knowledge of business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
