Job Description

Financial Management Analyst II supporting Duke University’s budgets, financial reporting, analysis, and year-end close. Partnering with departmental financial managers to guide organizational decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation of financial analyses and reports, including operational budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information
  • Assist with preparation of annual operating budgets for CAMC departments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university guidelines
  • Perform financial analysis and create reports for CAMC departments to identify strategic opportunities, risks, alternatives and contingencies
  • Assist the Director, Budgets and Business Services with coordinating Duke University's annual and quarterly financial reports for senior management and Board of Trustee review
  • Collaborate with business unit financial managers regarding financial position, cash flows, accounts, budgets, financial transactions and related financial matters
  • Assist with the year-end close process for CAMC departments and communicate significant operating budget variances to the Director
  • Perform other special projects and related duties

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in financial management, cost accounting or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • CPA is desirable
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP
  • Proficiency in Analysis for Office preferred
