Job Description
Fullstack engineer evolving memodio’s prescribed digital health app with Flutter and Node.js. Building accessible features and regulated medical software for older users worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Evolve the existing Flutter app for iOS and Android, focusing on UX and usability for people aged 50+
- Design and build Node.js APIs and services for new features
- Help build new and adjacent products, including products with AI capabilities
- Work closely with medical and product colleagues and contribute to product decisions
- Maintain code review, testing, and engineering standards appropriate for a regulated medical product
- Optionally shape cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and deployment
- Own features end to end on a small engineering team
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Demonstrated shipped software; show something you built
- Flutter/Dart skills, or proven ability to ramp up quickly from React Native or native mobile
- Working knowledge of Node.js and building APIs; not mobile-only
- Ability to work remotely and asynchronously on a tiny distributed team
- At least four hours of daily overlap with 09:00–17:00 Berlin time (CET/CEST)
- Comfortable working from underspecified problems and making technical decisions
- Self-directed, structured way of working with substantial ownership and little supervision
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Interest or experience in software security, accessibility, building for older users, DiGA, medical devices, regulated environments, startup or consultancy work, and/or DevOps are nice to have, not required
Benefits:
- Purpose: your code measurably helps people — clinically proven, prescribed by doctors, reimbursed by statutory health insurance
- Real ownership: own features end to end and have a direct say in how we build
- Stability with startup energy: 5+ years on the market, revenue from reimbursement partners
- Genuinely remote, genuinely worldwide: work from wherever you're based, with flexible hours around a light overlap window
- Access to the office in Potsdam if desired
- Choice of employment or freelance setup
- Small, focused team with no office politics
