Job Description
Forward Deployed Engineer deploying and prototyping AI-powered investment analytics for IFS Copperleaf customers. Turning customer data and requirements into production solutions, reusable accelerators, and product roadmap improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally across Sales, Product, R&D, and Implementation teams
- Work alongside Solutions Consultants and Account Executives on strategic accounts and net-new opportunities
- Own discovery, technical scoping, architecture, implementation, evaluation, productionization, adoption, and handoff for strategic customer solutions
- Stand up the current product on customer data quickly to prove value within deals
- Rapidly prototype near-production-ready solutions when product capabilities do not meet customer needs
- Build the smallest safe prototype to test hypotheses within deal timelines
- Engineer production solutions for security, reliability, observability, maintainability, and customer-architecture integration
- Build, deploy, and evaluate solutions using customer data
- Measure adoption, workflow impact, reliability, and time-to-value; iterate with technical and business stakeholders
- Partner with Product and R&D to turn validated customer patterns and production evidence into roadmap investments, reusable components, and platform improvements
- Develop reusable accelerators from recurring customer needs
- Develop and continuously update solution specifications with customers
- Work with Product to evaluate business potential, market needs, competitive differentiation, and functional/technical specifications
- Measure role performance through influenced ACV, prototype speed, prototype graduation to production, accelerator reuse, and product-gap follow-through
Requirements:
- Customer-facing and commercial ability
- Ability to run technical discovery sessions and value conversations with technical and business stakeholders
- Ability to connect technical solutions to customer outcomes and deal value
- Ability to generalize customer solutions into reusable accelerators
- LLM application development, RAG, prompt and context engineering, and agent orchestration
- Judgment regarding single versus multi-agent patterns and handling memory and state
- Experience using modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code
- Familiarity with enterprise integrations in regulated utility markets
- Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS/Smallworld, IBM Maximo/EAM, SAP/Oracle ERP/PPM, and PowerBI/reporting systems
- Technical and functional understanding of REST and streaming APIs, authentication patterns, and enterprise systems-of-record integration
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed, up to approximately 50%
- Preferred: software or data engineering background with shipped, maintainable software
- Preferred: fluency in Angular, Python, or a similar language
- Preferred: SQL, data modeling, and ingestion/transformation/serving pipelines
- Preferred: debugging imperfect customer data in live environments
- Preferred: production engineering depth in observability, performance, and operating at scale
- Preferred: prior customer-facing technical work, solutions engineering, forward deployment, technical consulting, or startup experience
- Preferred: prior AI deployment in enterprise or regulated environments
