Job Description

Full Stack Developer modernizing military freight transportation systems for U.S. Transportation Command. Building React interfaces and Java/Spring Boot services across the SDLC.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain React applications supporting GFM modernization, owning front-end features from technical design through delivery
  • Collaborate with functional analysts and UI/UX designers to translate requirements and designs into responsive, accessible, user-friendly interfaces
  • Develop reusable React components and consistent approaches to state management, navigation, forms, validation, and error handling
  • Integrate React applications with RESTful APIs and contribute to back-end services using Java and Spring Boot
  • Modernize legacy functionality while preserving essential business rules and user continuity
  • Write maintainable, secure code and automated tests; participate in code reviews and mentor other developers in React and front-end practices
  • Troubleshoot front-end, API, and back-end issues involving performance, reliability, and usability
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps engineers on CI/CD integration, automated tests, and deployments across environments
  • Work with testers to validate functionality, resolve defects, and ensure acceptance criteria are met
  • Contribute to technical planning, estimates, documentation, and communication of implementation options, dependencies, and risks

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Minimum of five years of experience in software development or a similar role
  • Active IAT Level II certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or another technical discipline related to designing information systems
  • Strong, recent hands-on experience developing and maintaining production applications using React and JavaScript, including functional components, hooks, component composition, and state management
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS, including responsive layouts and cross-browser compatibility
  • Experience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs, including asynchronous data handling, authentication flows, and error handling
  • Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for developing and maintaining back-end application functionality and services
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, reusable components, and maintainable application architecture
  • Experience writing automated tests and using browser developer tools to troubleshoot application behavior and performance
  • Experience using Git, participating in code reviews, and working with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Jenkins
  • Experience working in Linux environments to support application development and troubleshooting
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence, or similar tools, for work tracking and technical documentation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, collaborate across disciplines, and manage competing priorities
  • CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred
  • Preferred: experience with TypeScript, AngularJS or similar frameworks, Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, accessible interfaces, reusable component libraries, design systems, containerized applications, Kubernetes, AWS, and Department of Defense or other large enterprise systems
