Job Description

Full-stack engineer building Remitly’s global card and digital wallet infrastructure. Delivering React Native, Go, Node.js, GraphQL, and cloud-native payment systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Own architectural design and end-to-end implementation of global card issuance and real-time transaction pipelines
  • Build resilient GraphQL and REST APIs connecting frontend surfaces with core ledger and money-movement services
  • Integrate agentic coding workflows into daily development for prototyping, code generation, and technical specification creation
  • Eliminate failure points in critical payment paths to ensure fault tolerance and regulatory compliance across target geographies
  • Drive technical design and data modeling for lending and digital wallet capabilities
  • Partner with Product and Data Science to translate multi-currency financial workflows into production code

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating distributed systems end-to-end
  • Deep proficiency in TypeScript/React Native on the frontend
  • Backend experience in Go, Node.js, Java, or Kotlin
  • Hands-on experience designing and operating cloud-native architecture on AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Active, practical integration of AI tools within a personal engineering workflow
  • Background in microservices migration or high-concurrency ledger design
  • Strong foundation in system design for high-scale, fault-tolerant distributed platforms
  • Hands-on domain experience in FinTech, digital lending, or payment processing is nice-to-have
