Job Description

Operations General Manager leading Philippines data collection for a US-based AI robotics startup. Managing contractors, procurement, quality assurance, and 24/7 operational delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and reach out to businesses, including factories, and independent manual and skilled workers across the Philippines and surrounding areas
  • Ensure collected data is securely received and uploaded to company servers
  • Manage local supply chains for tools, hardware components, and facility needs
  • Arrange specific parts and site setups required for data operations
  • Implement rigorous quality assurance protocols to ensure collected data is accurate and error-free
  • Manage, mentor, and coordinate logistics contractors and interns
  • Maintain responsibility for team output, morale, and discipline
  • Maintain a 24/7 operational calendar and coordinate shifts and leave
  • Optimize data collection workflows to increase efficiency and throughput without sacrificing quality
  • Bridge the US engineering team and local execution force
  • Provide clear updates to US leadership and translate complex technical requirements into simple team instructions
  • Work hands-on with hardware and troubleshoot operational issues

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in operations management, project management, or a leadership role in a fast-paced environment such as manufacturing, logistics, or tech operations
  • Exceptional English and Filipino communication skills, written and verbal
  • Experience managing large, diverse teams of contractors or interns
  • Hands-on technical aptitude and comfort working around robotics, hardware, and basic tools
  • Ability to manage complex schedules and resource allocation across multiple time zones
  • Fiber internet, such as PLDT Fiber, Converge, or Globe Fiber, with a recommended speed of 100/50 Mbps
  • Backup internet capable of at least 20 Mbps
  • Quiet, conducive home workspace
