Job Description
Operations General Manager leading Philippines data collection for a US-based AI robotics startup. Managing contractors, procurement, quality assurance, and 24/7 operational delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and reach out to businesses, including factories, and independent manual and skilled workers across the Philippines and surrounding areas
- Ensure collected data is securely received and uploaded to company servers
- Manage local supply chains for tools, hardware components, and facility needs
- Arrange specific parts and site setups required for data operations
- Implement rigorous quality assurance protocols to ensure collected data is accurate and error-free
- Manage, mentor, and coordinate logistics contractors and interns
- Maintain responsibility for team output, morale, and discipline
- Maintain a 24/7 operational calendar and coordinate shifts and leave
- Optimize data collection workflows to increase efficiency and throughput without sacrificing quality
- Bridge the US engineering team and local execution force
- Provide clear updates to US leadership and translate complex technical requirements into simple team instructions
- Work hands-on with hardware and troubleshoot operational issues
Requirements:
- Proven experience in operations management, project management, or a leadership role in a fast-paced environment such as manufacturing, logistics, or tech operations
- Exceptional English and Filipino communication skills, written and verbal
- Experience managing large, diverse teams of contractors or interns
- Hands-on technical aptitude and comfort working around robotics, hardware, and basic tools
- Ability to manage complex schedules and resource allocation across multiple time zones
- Fiber internet, such as PLDT Fiber, Converge, or Globe Fiber, with a recommended speed of 100/50 Mbps
- Backup internet capable of at least 20 Mbps
- Quiet, conducive home workspace
