Job Description

Head of Data owning Fi’s pet-tracking data platform, pipelines, and analytics roadmap. Leading analysts and informing Finance, Product, and Hardware decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Own Fi's data platform and analytics roadmap
  • Model device, membership, and operational data into pipelines and warehouse layers
  • Design and maintain event-driven, incremental pipelines over raw device telemetry
  • Manage, coach, and grow a team of four analysts
  • Run the analysts' work pipeline, unblock them technically, and improve rigor and documentation
  • Partner with Finance on subscription and unit economics, membership forecasting, retention and LTV modeling, hardware margin, and board and investor reporting
  • Partner with Product and Hardware on activation, engagement, and device performance analytics
  • Build self-serve BI for stakeholders
  • Design and interpret experiments on pricing, onboarding, and retention
  • Shift the data team into a strategic partner embedded in the business

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or analytics engineering
  • Experience building or substantially rebuilding a data function
  • Experience leading analysts, formally or as a player-coach
  • Deep SQL proficiency
  • Hands-on experience with a modern warehouse and orchestration stack such as Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Airflow, or dbt
  • Fluency in dimensional and event-driven modeling
  • Knowledge of ELT tradeoffs, incremental builds, and cost control
  • Strong BI skills in Looker, Tableau, Mode, or equivalent
  • Experience partnering with Finance on forecasts, diligence materials, and margin analysis
  • Ability to work in ambiguity at Series B scale
