Job Description
Clinical informaticist analyzing healthcare workflows and clinical systems for Intermountain Health. Supporting HIT implementation, training, process improvement, and informatics projects remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Perform workflow and system analysis and functional design for clinical application software development and configuration
- Participate in implementation, training, adoption, and process improvement of Health Information Technology
- Function as a liaison between business and clinical users and software development/application teams
- Support and periodically lead moderately complex projects with limited supervision
- Interact with business and clinical caregivers to build productive relationships
- Provide customer experience and service through verbal and written communication
- Prioritize and organize work with attention to detail
- Use informatics fundamentals to positively impact people, process, and tools
- Use basic project management skills to contribute to technology project deliverables
- Round in facilities across the system to observe workflows, meet stakeholders, assist with implementations, and perform targeted functions
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of workflows in a healthcare system
- Proven experience engaging providers, nurses, and other clinicians in learning through presentation and communication skills
- Experience applying informatics fundamentals (People, Process, Technology) to impact quality and safety
- Experience participating in and leading deliverables of Informatics projects
- Experience working with Cerner, Epic, or other EHR vendors
- Experience or training in the use of Continuous Improvement
- Registered Nurse and other licensed clinical incumbents must hold and maintain current state licensure
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet project requirements
- Demonstrated understanding of how clinical systems are utilized to provide patient care by a variety of caregivers and specialties
- Basic project management skills
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, e-mail, virtual meeting, and scheduling applications
- Ability to round in facilities across the system and support implementations
- Ability to meet the physical requirements, including lifting, transporting, pulling, pushing, bending, and carrying equipment
