Job Description
Information Security Engineer securing 8am’s cloud, detection, and compliance systems. Protecting fintech software used by over 250,000 U.S. professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage AWS security posture by identifying vulnerabilities, triaging GuardDuty and Security Hub findings, and driving remediation with owning teams
- Operate and extend EDR and SIEM, maintain endpoint coverage, author detection queries and dashboards, tune alerts, and investigate suspicious activity
- Lead hands-on incident response, including investigation, containment, forensic analysis, remediation, and post-incident reviews
- Run vulnerability management operations, including scanner curation, severity SLAs, remediation tracking, and code/secret scanning triage
- Manage KnowBe4 phishing tests and training with Compliance
- Support WAF monitoring, IaC security review, and cloud account hygiene across a multi-account environment
- Collaborate on data mapping, DLP, classification, and compliance controls including PCI ASV scans and Vanta tests
- Advise on customer-facing and product security questions
- Maintain runbooks so work is reproducible by any teammate
- After a 1–6 month integration with U.S.-based teams, help form autonomous, locally led squads
- Collaborate across Europe and the U.S. and potentially travel for company events
Requirements:
- 4+ years in security engineering or security operations, with real incident response experience
- Strong AWS security knowledge, including IAM, logging, GuardDuty/Security Hub, and multi-account patterns
- Proficiency with SIEM query languages and detection tuning
- At least one scripting language; Python preferred
- Experience with vulnerability management tooling and remediation SLA programs
- Comfortable operating independently in a distributed team
- Strong written English
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation
- Preferably based in Brno, Czech Republic
- Bonus: PCI DSS or SOC 2 environment experience and ASV scan operations
- Bonus: Terraform/IaC security review experience
- Bonus: Exposure to securing AI-assisted development or agentic tooling
