Job Description

Issue Management Coordinator leading fraud, KYC, and compliance remediation at TD, a global banking institution. Managing operational teams, corrective action plans, risk frameworks, and regulatory readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Support fraud prevention, insider threat management, and Know Your Customer (KYC) oversight
  • Lead and coordinate remediation of compliance issues and corrective action plans
  • Partner with business lines and second-line-of-defense teams to drive accountability and return to compliance
  • Manage a departmental unit within the Collection/Fraud Operations group
  • Manage supervisors and teams of exempt and non-exempt employees
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching through subordinate supervisory employees
  • Establish goals and objectives for regular operations and special projects
  • Develop plans to manage operational performance and achieve short- and long-term goals
  • Oversee completion of goals, objectives, and deadlines
  • Research and resolve issues spanning multiple operational and company areas
  • Delegate tasks and authority to improve performance, responsiveness, and efficiency
  • Monitor progress toward goals and project completion
  • Manage operational communications between internal and external units
  • Develop policy or procedure changes to improve communications
  • Lead and develop staff; provide guidance on staffing, appraisals, salary recommendations, promotions, and terminations
  • Evaluate policies and recommend and implement approved improvements
  • Participate in bank conversions, including project plan maintenance, task completion, and migration of functions
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, risk management requirements, and corporate standards
  • Support satisfactory audits and examinations
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and provide leadership and corporate vision
  • Implement unit changes or reorganizations to improve operational performance and efficiency
  • Assist in setting operational goals and meeting performance standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Operational management experience specific to the section of operations managed
  • In-depth knowledge of principles, practices, policies, and procedures related to the operational areas managed
  • Strong leadership, delegation, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent problem/conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant banking rules and policies
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and make sound decisions within and outside established policy
  • Ability to develop new policies and procedures in response to and in anticipation of changes in the business environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing issues through the full Issue Management Lifecycle, including identification, assessment, remediation, validation, and closure
  • Strong understanding of Risk and Control Frameworks, including control design, effectiveness assessment, governance, and oversight practices
  • Proven ability to conduct and lead Root Cause Analyses
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills across business, compliance, risk, operations, audit, legal, and technology teams
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities
  • Experience leading and coordinating projects and strategic initiatives
  • Working knowledge of regulatory expectations, audit processes, and risk management practices within financial services
  • Ability to translate complex issues into clear, concise, executive-ready documentation
  • Strong data interpretation, reporting, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated executive presence
  • Strong organizational management skills
  • Ability to build relationships, foster collaboration, and drive accountability
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with sound judgment and ability to operate independently
  • Occasional domestic travel; no international travel
