Job Description
Junior Web Developer assisting Smartworks with website and web application development. Coding, testing, maintenance, and frontend/backend updates under senior developer supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the web development team with all aspects of website and application design
- Assist with testing and maintenance of backend and front-end applications
- Brainstorm new technology applications such as digital storage and mobile technology
- Collaborate with developers to implement new web features
- Convert video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web
- Follow team and/or client procedures, policies, and methodologies as instructed
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
- Work under the supervision of senior developers on coding, testing, and design adjustments
Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
- Ability to convert comprehensive layouts and wireframes into working HTML pages
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and other coding languages.
- Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial
- Strong understanding of PHP back-end development, website architecture, and aesthetics
