Job Description

Lead software engineer owning Golang microservices and React applications at FXC Intelligence. Building data and analytics products for cross-border payments used by global financial organisations.

Responsibilities:

  • Take technical ownership of a high-impact, customer-facing product used by major companies, central banks and non-governmental organisations
  • Take responsibility for the quality of code and architecture delivered by the team
  • Influence, coach and line manage team engineers
  • Align the team on goals, outcomes and timelines
  • Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to translate the strategic roadmap into actionable tasks
  • Provide visibility on delivery progress outside the team
  • Design, develop, test, maintain and enhance Golang microservices and frontend applications
  • Deliver performant interfaces using the company design system
  • Improve the performance and observability of services and applications
  • Improve team and business quality of life through automation, process improvement or new technologies
  • Continuously and reliably collect, process, verify and serve large amounts of cross-border payments data

Requirements:

  • Experience line managing a team and coaching engineers
  • Ability to write Golang services and web application backends and deploy them in Docker containers
  • Ability to write performant SQL
  • Experience building componentised application frontends in React/TypeScript
  • Understanding of clean code principles and TypeScript and Go idioms
  • Experience reviewing code and establishing team quality standards
  • Ability to learn and engage with a new business domain and product
  • Ability to communicate complex topics to technical and non-technical people
  • Experience or interest in AI technologies
  • Applications with concurrent logic, such as goroutines (helpful but not essential)
  • Building CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitLab CI (helpful but not essential)
  • Configuring and using observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana (helpful but not essential)
  • Experience using AI to increase productivity and productionised AI tools (helpful but not essential)
  • MaterialUI (helpful but not essential)
  • Experience using Airflow, Python and Terraform (helpful but not essential)
  • Availability to work Monday-Friday, 9-5 EST/EDT, with potential on-call support
