Job Description
Lead Travel Consultant arranging complex corporate travel for Amex GBT, a global business-travel company. Serving German-speaking clients remotely from Gurgaon or Bangalore.
Responsibilities:
- Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers, including individuals and groups
- Arrange and book domestic and international business travel involving air, road, rail, and accommodations
- Use Global Distribution Systems, including Sabre, Apollo, Amadeus, and/or Galileo
- Communicate with customers by telephone, chat, email, and/or back-office systems
- Provide proactive travel advice and sell additional services while adhering to company travel policies
- Work independently and collaboratively to meet business and account-specific goals
- Recover dissatisfied customers through exceptional phone and email service
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the resolution process
- Set realistic customer expectations and communicate resolutions clearly
- Explain complex situations and deliver challenging news while maintaining customer satisfaction and trust
Requirements:
- Previous experience in travel, preferably business travel
- Understanding of fares and ticketing rules for car, air, and hotel
- Passion for excellence in client service, including proactive anticipation of needs
- Native GDS expertise, specifically Amadeus
- Fluent written and spoken German
- Excellent level of English (required)
- Attention to detail
- Integrity and ability to protect personal traveler information
- Strong understanding of the travel industry, including business travel, leisure travel, or airline reservation backgrounds
- Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and independently
- Teamwork and openness to feedback
- Flexibility to work the European market shift: 11:30 AM–8:30 PM or 12:30 PM–9:30 PM, depending on daylight saving
