Job Description
Leisure Travel Consultant booking complex domestic and international travel for AAA members and clients. Selling air, hotel, car, rail, and insurance services through inbound support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative travel planning and sales support for members, customers, executive management, board members, and internal partners through an inbound service environment
- Identify traveler needs and recommend and book domestic and international travel arrangements
- Promote membership and preferred vendor offerings
- Service and sell airline tickets, car rental, hotel and travel insurance
- Determine client needs through individual consultation and emphasize preferred vendors as appropriate
- Cross-sell membership to align with the ACG Connected Member Vision
- Complete travel arrangements and advise travelers/arrangers about cancellation/change penalties, schedules and fares
- Receive, investigate and resolve travel problems and issues
- Plan and book complex international and domestic itineraries, hotel, car and rail reservations
- Meet or exceed performance, production and quality standards
- Arrange travel itineraries for small groups
- Work with the Travel Group Department to procure airline agreements and book air for incentive and leisure groups
- Advise on destinations and transportation and accommodation requests
- Keep abreast of foreign-country developments that may affect travel arrangements or destination safety
- Review fare options, including Agentware, and provide enhancements such as hotels and cars
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Extensive travel agent experience with emphasis on domestic and international airline transactions through the Computer Reservation System (CRS)
- Experience with auto faring of transactions
- Car, Hotel and Insurance knowledge
- Ability to plan and book Western Hemisphere and European international airline reservations on a CRS
- Ability to plan and book complex international and domestic itineraries, hotel, car and rail reservations
- Knowledge of geography and travel resource material
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to arrange travel itineraries for small groups
- Knowledge of destination safety and developments in foreign countries
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Must consent to a background and drug screen if offered employment
