Job Description
Licensed Therapist providing evidence-based substance use disorder psychotherapy through Spring Health’s AI-native mental health platform. Assessing risk, coordinating integrated care, and supporting members across recovery stages.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy for adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions using Motivational Interviewing, CBT for SUD, relapse prevention, and harm reduction strategies
- Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments covering symptom severity, readiness for change, recovery supports, co-occurring conditions, and safety risks
- Develop person-centered, ASAM-informed treatment plans with level-of-care recommendations and referrals
- Support members across all stages of recovery, including active substance use, ambivalence, and return to use
- Collaborate with medication managers, Specialty Care Navigators, and Peer Recovery Specialists
- Monitor member progress through measurement-based care and data-driven clinical decision-making
- Provide mental health counseling, clinical risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis intervention
- Complete required internal training and assignments and attend Clinical Team meetings
- Follow company policies and confidentiality, compliance, and ethical standards
- Review monthly projections, client metrics, and clinical outcomes to monitor care quality
Requirements:
- Unrestricted license to practice psychotherapy in Texas, California, or Pennsylvania; licensed supervision is not accepted
- 2+ years of post-licensed experience
- Ability to work a full 40-hour work week
- Technology comfort and virtual/telehealth competency
- Ability and willingness to maintain an average caseload of 30 sessions per week
- At least 2 years of psychotherapy experience with individuals with substance use disorders, representing a meaningful portion of clinical practice
- Training in evidence-based SUD approaches, including Motivational Interviewing (MI/MET) and one or more of CBT for SUD, relapse prevention, contingency management, or other evidence-based addiction treatments
- Comfort working with members across all stages of change, including active substance use, harm reduction, and abstinence-based recovery
- Ability to assess substance use severity, relapse risk, withdrawal risk, recovery support, and need for higher levels of care
- Understanding of medications for substance use disorders, including MAUD/MOUD, and ability to collaborate with prescribing clinicians
- Comfort providing safety planning and intervention for higher-risk client situations
- Commitment to quality clinical care and measurement-informed practice
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
