Job Description
Manager, Design & Marketing creating digital, social, print, and packaging assets for Fablelistik Editions. Supporting Macmillan’s specialty book publishing and marketing campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Design digital ads, newsletter/email templates, and promotional graphics
- Maintain, evolve, and enforce brand guidelines across customer touchpoints
- Stage and photograph prototypes and finished books for promotional graphics and the website
- Design organic social media content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, including static graphics, motion design, and video overlays
- Produce print materials such as merchandise and packaging
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and art teams from concept through execution
- Organize and maintain the team’s digital asset library, templates, and design files
- Collaborate with stakeholders on product look and feel, including illustration style, typography, layouts, covers, icons, and infographics
- Make design corrections, mockups, and typesetting changes
- Maintain promotional PowerPoint decks and the internal database
- Design shipper boxes and packaging and prepare print-ready files
Requirements:
- Experience designing for digital, social, and print applications
- Strong portfolio demonstrating versatile marketing assets for the book industry, including product styling/lighting
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Experience with Figma, After Effects, Premiere Pro and video editing software
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively across internal teams
- Detail-oriented, with ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and prioritization skills
- 2+ years of marketing design in trade publishing or DTC e-commerce agency experience, with a focus on video-first design
- Motion graphics or video editing skills using After Effects and Premiere Pro
- Experience working with clients or external partners
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in graphic design or another related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
- Knowledge of book design/production is a plus
- Digital illustration experience is a plus
- Knowledge of Airtable is a plus
