Job Description
Managing Technical Architect overseeing engineering teams delivering ePlus technology solutions. Designing complex IT architectures, managing client engagements, and developing technical consultants.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the engineering team in project delivery and ensure engineers are technically prepared
- Ensure services are completed fully and efficiently, meeting or exceeding client expectations
- Manage and support a diversified team of consultants
- Maintain client relationships and ensure client satisfaction throughout engagements
- Contribute to team growth and development
- Create and deliver training programs and manage monthly internal training workshops
- Assist with building and hiring the professional services team within the assigned region
- Set training goals with the Services Director
- Manage technical development, team satisfaction, employee reviews, and HR approvals
- Manage quality assurance for team projects
- Perform pre-sales engineering, including BOM assistance, SOW development, and planning/designing complex multi-vendor solutions
- Provide technical oversight and support throughout engagements
- Engage manufacturers and engineering resources for design assistance and lab access
- Develop expertise aligned with client technologies and support business outcomes
- Build and maintain manufacturer/vendor relationships
- Serve as an escalation point for engineering, consulting, and architecture staff
- Meet with key vendors to stay current on products and technologies
- Pursue continuing education in relevant certifications
- Lead and guide team members through mentoring, coaching, and development
- Promote inclusivity, respect, communication, and collaboration
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives to drive innovation and organizational change
- Resolve conflicts proactively and escalate concerns as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in IT
- 5+ years of experience in a Consultant or Architect role
- Multiple industry-recognized certifications, such as CCIE, VCP, NACP, or CISSP
- Excellent customer service skills on phone and in person
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to think and develop solutions quickly
- Full knowledge and ability to design, plan, implement, and support IT solutions using two or more of: Virtualization, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Networking, Collaboration (Messaging), VoIP, Video Conferencing, Backup, Blade Server Technology, or Security
- Ability to meet customer IT needs and serve customers to ePlus’ standards
- Ability to perform seated and occasional standing or walking activities
