Job Description
Medical Information Specialist Lead handling patient inquiries, adverse events, and product complaints for Inizio Engage’s biotechnology clients. Leading compliant, database-driven medical information support across Canada.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain excellent quality standards for all client programs and adhere to program scripts and guidelines
- Accurately collect required information and capture it in specific program databases
- Document and/or triage Medical Information Requests, Adverse Events and Product Quality Complaints in compliance with Inizio, client and federal guidelines and regulations
- Handle all contact channel types, including phone and email
- Complete literature fulfillment to customers
- Exhibit effective communication and tele-management skills
- Converse with callers empathetically and facilitate understanding of medical terminology
- Work with multiple projects simultaneously
- Adhere to company policies and Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform administrative and non-telecommunication duties as needed
- Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality under HIPAA
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience preferred
- Ability to lead and guide others
- Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
- Competency with a computer keyboard and mouse
- Pleasant telephone manner
- Ability to join frequent meetings and calls without disruption or disconnecting
- Proficiency in reviewing intake documents thoroughly and entering information in database with little to no errors
- Proficiency with Word and Excel
- Analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision making
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple parallel projects with strong time management skills
- Must safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines
