Job Description

Mid-senior M&A attorney leading renewable energy project acquisitions and dispositions. Clean Energy Counsel provides legal support for sustainable projects across solar, storage, wind, and other technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead M&A transactions in the renewable energy field, particularly acquisitions and dispositions of renewable energy projects
  • Lead deals and manage associates
  • Coordinate and manage multiple workflows
  • Collaborate with clients, CEC colleagues, and other professionals on M&A matters
  • Coordinate and lead M&A due diligence reviews
  • Coordinate and lead transactional documentation
  • Adhere to firm policies, practices, and priorities
  • Perform other duties as requested by firm management

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience at a law firm in a practice serving clients in the renewable energy and related industries
  • Substantive experience leading/managing acquisitions and dispositions of renewable energy projects and portfolios
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing underlying energy contracts, including EPCs, O&Ms, and PPAs
  • Ability to loop in and manage required subject matter experts
  • Ability to manage and track all aspects of transactions
  • Strong deal management, organization, drafting, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Admission to and in good standing with the Bar of the applicant’s state of residence
