Job Description

Network Engineer I supporting Air Methods’ mission-critical healthcare aviation infrastructure. Troubleshooting enterprise networks, security, servers, storage, backup, and virtual environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and troubleshoot routing and switching enterprise technologies in complex networking environments, including WAN routing, LAN switching, and VoIP
  • Assist with administration of firewalling, multi-layer VPN technologies, IPS, ACLs, and security best practices
  • Configure, manage, and maintain file servers, storage, backup, and virtual environments under the direction of the Infrastructure Engineering Manager
  • Maintain and support systems in a 24x7, large, distributed, mission-critical environment across data centers and helicopter EMS bases around the U.S.
  • Monitor the health of servers, virus protection, backups, and data centers
  • Participate in projects to deploy new technologies or upgrade existing infrastructure
  • Provide administration and escalated technical support for existing technologies, working with outside support services as required
  • Document systems and follow change management processes
  • Participate in establishing policies, procedures, training plans, and disaster recovery processes for network resource administration
  • Interface with vendors and consultants to coordinate product and service delivery
  • Escalate problems and issues to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager or company leadership
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) from a four-year college or university in Computer Science or related field and one to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Large scale Citrix XenApp farm experience preferred
  • EMC CLARiiON CX4/CX3 SAN management experience preferred
  • Data Domain, Avamar, RecoverPoint, and deduplication technologies experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations relative to information security and assurance
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including a 24/7 on-call schedule
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Microsoft server background required, including Windows, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, and OCS
  • Windows System Administration (Windows 2008/2012)
  • VMware experience
  • Cisco UCS experience
  • Windows Desktop build and administration
  • IP protocol and stack knowledge
  • DHCP and DNS knowledge
  • Active Directory administration including GPOs
  • MCSE certification preferred, or MCSA and/or MTA leading to MCSE
  • VCAP/VCP certification a plus
  • CCEA or CCAA certification a plus
  • Regular scheduled attendance
