Job Description

Remote Online Notary closing Illinois home equity loans for U.S. Bank. Processing compliant loan documents, coordinating funding, and guiding customers virtually.

Responsibilities:

  • Virtually close Home Equity loans for Illinois customers at their request
  • Process and prepare paperwork and signatures required to close Home Equity loans
  • Interface with the Home Equity closing team and internal partners
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating closing dates with customers
  • Formalize loan applications for approval and enter information into computer or central filing systems
  • Determine process interactions needed to satisfy internal, regulatory and investor requirements
  • Initiate communication with customers, staff, realtors, brokers, counsel, title companies, and other parties to obtain required documents
  • Order title searches and other necessary information
  • Prepare required disclosure information within designated time frames
  • Provide loan status updates, resolve discrepancies or problems, and provide periodic status reports
  • Ensure quality customer service throughout the loan process
  • Review files and loan applications for accuracy and adherence to approval terms
  • Review loan packages for legal and compliance adherence
  • Assemble final loan packages
  • Calculate loan settlement statements
  • Disburse funds, enter closing information into the loan system, and prepare final packages
  • Coordinate loan packages from closing through funding within designated time frames
  • Explain loan features and benefits to customers at closing

Requirements:

  • Remote Online Notaries (RONs) must reside in or be physically present in the state where they are commissioned when performing notarial acts
  • Residing in Illinois is required for this role
  • Ability to work with legal to solve complex documentation needs
  • Knowledge of closing policies and procedures, funding policies, underwriting requirements, governmental and agency requirements, terminology and automated processing systems
  • Strong organization skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of applicable credit policies and approval processes for assigned product(s)
  • Highly preferred up to two years of relevant experience
  • A remote online notary license (RON) is highly preferred
  • Experience with LOS Applications Net Oxygen and/or BLEND
  • Experience working with Home Equity Loans and Lines of credit
  • Applicants must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
  • Ability to comply with applicable regulatory requirements, which may include FINRA, NMLS registration, Reg Z, Reg G, OFAC, NFA, FCPA, Bank Secrecy Act, SAFE Act, and federal guidelines applicable to the role
