Job Description
Operations Coordinator managing ocean freight bookings, documentation, tracking, and costing for Expedock’s tech-enabled workforce augmentation platform. Remote Philippines role supporting international freight operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage shipment intake and validation, ensuring order details are complete and accurate
- Coordinate bookings and customer approvals with relevant stakeholders
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation and cutoff requirements
- Create and maintain accurate shipment records in relevant systems
- Update TMS and shipment milestones, particularly around departure
- Monitor shipments in transit and follow up on delays, exceptions, or missing updates
- Coordinate with carriers, customers, and internal teams to keep shipments on schedule
- Review shipment costing and related charges for accuracy
- Track shipment status and ensure timely updates throughout the operational process
- Identify and escalate issues that may affect shipment timelines or costs
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for assigned shipments
- Support process improvements and other operational tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation operations
- Ocean freight experience is required
- Experience coordinating shipments across multiple stages of the forwarding process
- Familiarity with booking, shipping documentation, cutoffs, and shipment tracking
- Experience using CargoWise, TMS, or other freight management systems is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong follow-through and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to identify issues, follow up proactively, and escalate when necessary
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced logistics environment
- Fiber internet recommended at 100/50 Mbps
- Backup internet capable of at least 20 Mbps
- Quiet, conducive home workspace
- Wired Ethernet connection preferred during work hours
- Power backup (UPS) preferred if the location experiences frequent outages
