Job Description

Loan Officer Assistant supporting Guild Mortgage’s residential loan origination and processing. Managing borrower documentation, credit analysis, disclosures, referrals, and customer communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one consultations with clients to understand financial goals and mortgage eligibility
  • Educate clients on mortgage products, terms, and options
  • Assist with mortgage applications, documentation collection, and lending-guideline compliance
  • Develop and maintain referral-source and client relationships
  • Collaborate with underwriters, processors, realtors, and lenders
  • Collect borrower documentation and complete applications and disclosures
  • Analyze credit reports and financial scenarios to determine loan products
  • Price loans, communicate fees, lock rates, and review closing disclosures
  • Submit complete loan packages to processing
  • Coordinate and distribute compliant marketing materials
  • Keep clients and agents informed and provide customer service throughout the loan process
  • Assist with appointment setting, lead callbacks, calendar management, databases, prequalification links, credit reports, and AUS findings
  • Maintain approved programs and software systems
  • Manage compliance-approved email marketing to realtors
  • Prepare thank-you cards for referral sources and clients
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Minimum two years’ experience in mortgage lending or a related field, or a proven record of closing an average of four loans each month
  • NMLS required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
  • Customer-service focus
  • Patience and professionalism with internal and external customers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • Ability to learn tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions
  • Ability to adhere to and apply process protocols
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday during the business week
