Job Description
Pathology Support Coordinator reviewing and accessioning tissue cases for Natera, a cfDNA testing and genetic diagnostics company. Escalating discrepancies, communicating with pathology labs, and supporting accurate case processing.
Responsibilities:
- Review select cases for tissue-request accuracy, escalate to PAs when needed, and complete accurate data entry
- Assist other Pathology Support Coordinators in resolving case issues and provide feedback on work quality
- Place notes and holds on cases involving non-conforming samples, discrepancies, or missing information for timely Customer Care follow-up
- Compose professional emails and faxes for case escalations and status updates
- Make outbound calls to pathology labs to obtain specimen information, accession numbers, specimen locations, fax numbers, and address confirmations
- Attend interdepartmental meetings and provide process or workflow feedback
- Monitor errors and metrics for tissue cases
- Access and handle protected health information in paper and electronic forms
- Complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, policy compliance, and security training within the first 30 days
- Maintain current status on Natera training requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of medical industry-related experience
- Previous computer experience required
- Previous data entry experience required
- Trained on all product types and able to accession with high accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to handle most escalations, discrepancies, and holds
- Firm understanding of the Accessioning process and SOPs
- Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute with high accuracy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking and good judgment
- Ability to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
- Must complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance, and security training within 30 days of hire
- Must maintain current Natera training requirements
