Job Description
Principal Software Engineer developing, testing, and documenting software systems at Motorola Solutions. Building technology that helps protect people, property, and communities.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and coordinate software system, application, and/or operating system design, development, coding, testing, research, programming, and documentation activities
- Perform modeling, designing, and coding using structured methods
- Review design documentation throughout the software development process
- Create and execute unit, integration, system, regression, performance, load, and acceptance test plans and scripts
- Use software system testing procedures and document results
- Analyze software requirements to determine design feasibility within quality assurance, time, and cost constraints
- Participate in formal design and implementation activities
- Develop requirements, write code, and create unit and other automated testing solutions
- Provide engineering management with accurate effort estimates for projected work
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree + 5 years experience or Masters degree + 3 years experience
- Experience designing, developing, coding, testing, researching, programming, and documenting software systems, applications, and/or operating systems
- Experience with modeling, designing, and coding using structured methods
- Ability to review software development design documentation
- Experience creating and executing unit, integration, system, regression, performance, load, and acceptance test plans and scripts
- Experience using software system testing procedures and documenting results
- Ability to analyze software requirements for feasibility within quality assurance, time, and cost constraints
- Experience participating in formal design and implementation activities
- Ability to develop requirements, write code, and create unit and other automated testing solutions
- Ability to provide accurate effort estimates
- Must be able to work within the U.S.
