Job Description
Prior Authorization Specialist managing dermatology medication approvals for Honeydew’s digital dermatology platform. Coordinating insurers, pharmacies, appeals, and financial assistance to improve patient access.
Responsibilities:
- Submit and manage prior authorizations for dermatology medications, including topicals, orals, injectables, and specialty drugs
- Track authorization status and follow up to prevent delays in care
- Respond to requests for additional clinical documentation
- Prepare and submit appeals when required
- Coordinate with pharmacies and insurance carriers to resolve authorization issues
- Support enrollment in patient assistance programs and manufacturer copay programs when applicable
- Maintain accurate documentation in internal systems
- Work closely with internal clinical teams, insurance carriers, and pharmacies
- Report to the Prior Authorization Lead
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of prior authorization experience
- Experience with biologic prior authorizations
- Experience with patient assistance programs, copay cards, or financial assistance workflows
- Experience supporting dermatology medications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage volume in a fast-paced startup environment
- Authorized to work in the US without restriction
- Must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
- High school diploma or equivalent (application requirement)
- Experience with Dermatology (nice to have)
