Job Description
Business Analyst translating requirements for Dotmatics’ Luma scientific SaaS platform. Driving user stories, backlog refinement, Agile delivery, and UAT across Product and Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the bridge between Product and Engineering within an Agile delivery framework.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, QA, UX Designers, Scientists, and stakeholders to understand business objectives and product requirements.
- Gather, analyse, challenge, and document business and user requirements.
- Translate Epics into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting analysis documentation in Jira and Confluence.
- Refine and maintain the product backlog and support prioritisation with Product Managers.
- Analyse business processes and user workflows to identify product improvement opportunities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with Engineering and QA throughout delivery and resolve requirements questions.
- Work across multiple Agile teams to ensure consistent requirements and successful delivery.
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Perform and support User Acceptance Testing.
- Use product analytics and customer feedback to identify future product improvements.
- Contribute to wireframes, user flows, and lightweight prototypes.
- Support customer discussions, technology research, and cross-functional product initiatives.
Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst or similar role within a SaaS software environment.
- Experience working within Agile Scrum teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Strong experience gathering, analysing, documenting, and refining business requirements.
- Proven experience translating business needs into Epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence to challenge assumptions and think independently.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence or similar Agile tooling.
- Strong Business Analysis experience within B2B Enterprise SaaS products.
- Experience in requirements elicitation, process analysis, and user journey mapping.
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation.
- Experience with backlog refinement, prioritisation, and working with Product Managers.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication across Product, Engineering, QA, UX, and business teams.
- Experience analysing business processes and translating complex requirements into deliverable work.
- Quality Analysis and User Acceptance Testing experience.
- Confidence working independently and driving ambiguous requirements to clear outcomes.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience within scientific software or Life Sciences is advantageous but not required.
- Nice-to-have experience includes scientific software, ELNs, LIMS, scientific instrument data, Life Sciences software, Figma, product discovery, AI-powered products, Databricks, Power BI, Sigma, Spotfire, modern data platforms, and model-driven or multi-tenant SaaS applications.
