Job Description
Product Design Lead leading designers and scalable UX/UI systems at Moniepoint, Africa’s all-in-one financial ecosystem. Driving accessible, data-informed product experiences across fintech products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small team of product designers, ensuring project prioritisation, team alignment, and timely execution of high-quality design work
- Mentor and inspire the team through regular critiques, coaching, feedback, learning, and skill development
- Manage project timelines, roadmaps, and design workflows
- Contribute directly to key design projects while balancing leadership responsibilities
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and executives to translate strategic goals into user-friendly design solutions
- Advocate for user-centred design using qualitative and quantitative research, usability testing, and behavioural insights
- Ensure design consistency and scalability through design systems and atomic design principles
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design
- Collaborate with analytics and product teams to measure design impact and optimise experiences based on data
Requirements:
- Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership of design teams and delivery of end-to-end product design solutions across platforms, backed by user research and measurable impact
- Experience leading and developing design teams, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and performance-driven growth
- Expertise in UX/UI principles, interaction design, and user research methodologies
- Proven track record of delivering results-driven digital products
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and advocate for design at all levels
- Strategic mindset and ability to translate product goals into scalable, flexible, user-centric design solutions
- Experience managing design workflows, tools, and operational processes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities
- Experience in fintech or SaaS
- Strong understanding of financial products, compliance, security, and designing for trust
