Job Description
Product Design Lead building scalable design systems for Moniepoint’s African financial ecosystem. Owning component libraries, design tokens, Figma architecture, and cross-platform consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards for layout, typography, colour, spacing, visual hierarchy, and digital finish across reusable elements
- Design, build, and maintain scalable component libraries
- Define interactive behaviors and state transitions across components
- Structure and maintain design tokens for consistency between design environments and code
- Organize complex Figma variants, properties, and components
- Partner with engineering teams across Web, React, Flutter, Android, and iOS/Native environments
- Create usage guidelines and documentation for component governance
- Drive adoption, efficiency, cross-platform consistency, documentation quality, and scalable architecture of the design system
- Participate in portfolio review, recruiter call, senior leadership interview, design leadership challenge, and final executive conversation
Requirements:
- Extensive experience building, scaling, and maintaining production-ready design systems
- Deep understanding of constraints and guidelines across Web, iOS, and Android
- Portfolio demonstrating systems thinking and scalable design decisions across multiple products
- Strong familiarity with how developers inspect, build, and consume components in code repositories
- Advanced Figma knowledge, including libraries, auto-layout, components, variants, variables, and library publication
- Solid grasp of accessibility standards, WCAG, contrast requirements, and inclusive design principles
- Familiarity with React, Flutter, and Atomic Design methodology
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Resume and portfolio showcasing leadership in managing design teams, driving strategy, and delivering user-centred solutions with measurable business impact
- Case studies demonstrating leadership and development of designers, project prioritization and management, team-culture development, and use of research, data, and experimentation
