Job Description
Product Lead helping Toast scale technology that makes food and beverage businesses easier to run. Owning strategy, customer discovery, planning, and growth from MVP to product-market fit.
Responsibilities:
- Shape product strategy and roadmap from MVP through product-market fit and scale
- Own outcome briefs end to end, from problem framing through shipping and results measurement
- Run weekly cycle planning with engineers, the design engineer, and team lead
- Identify where early customers gain value or get stuck and prioritize accordingly
- Define success metrics, ensure measurement, and adjust direction based on data
- Maintain quality standards and determine where good enough is sufficient
- Invest in onboarding, reliability, self-serve, and integrations for growth
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, support, and operations on positioning, pricing, and launches
- Share updates with engineers, leadership, and partners on learnings and next steps
Requirements:
- 5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of a product or major product area and its results
- Experience taking an early product from MVP to product-market fit and meaningful growth
- Product decisions informed directly by time spent with customers
- Experience simplifying complex workflows
- Understanding of software development sufficient to weigh tradeoffs with engineers, spot risks, and ask the right questions
- Experience working directly with engineering teams without a dedicated engineering manager
- Experience owning weekly planning and priorities
- Comfort with metrics, setting goals, and using data to make decisions
- Regular use of AI tools in work, with ability to explain how
- Clear written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences
- Self-directed, low-ego approach and ability to maintain momentum amid ambiguity
