Job Description
Product Owner translating business needs into Agile technology solutions for KBR's government and commercial missions. Prioritizing backlogs, defining requirements, and guiding delivery across business units.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT development teams for new systems, product enhancements, and technology solutions across multiple business units
- Act as Product Owner within Agile development teams
- Gather, analyze, document, validate, and prioritize business requirements
- Translate requirements into actionable user stories and functional specifications
- Manage and prioritize product backlogs
- Define acceptance criteria
- Support sprint planning, reviews, testing, and release activities
- Evaluate applications, technologies, and system capabilities and recommend solutions to improve business performance and operational efficiency
- Lead analysis of business data requirements, data quality needs, business rules, and process dependencies
- Partner with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and end users to design business processes and technology solutions
- Support product roadmaps, continuous improvement initiatives, and portfolios of change aligned with business strategy
- Develop process documentation, workflow diagrams, and business models
- Deliver reporting, analysis, and recommendations supporting business decision-making and organizational performance improvements
- Build cross-functional relationships and provide guidance to less experienced team members as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Project Manager, or related role
- Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments
- Experience partnering with cross-functional business and technical stakeholders to define and deliver technology solutions
- Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements throughout the software development lifecycle
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, product ownership principles, and requirements management practices
- Ability to translate complex business needs into clear functional requirements and technology solutions
- Experience with business process analysis, workflow design, and process improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of data analysis concepts, data quality principles, and reporting solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and relationship-building capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail
- Ability to quickly understand and evaluate new technologies and emerging digital capabilities
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Product Owner certification preferred
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide technology initiatives across multiple business functions preferred
- Experience developing or contributing to product roadmaps and strategic change initiatives preferred
- Experience with data modeling, business intelligence, reporting, or data governance activities preferred
- Experience working in government contracting, engineering, technology, or highly regulated industries preferred
