Job Description
Project Scheduler managing Microsoft Project schedules for SAIC’s US Navy MK48 torpedo production contracts. Coordinating resources, critical paths, progress tracking, and schedule risk mitigation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules across all phases of project execution
- Coordinate with project managers and team members to gather schedule information and update schedules
- Identify scheduling issues and develop mitigation strategies
- Communicate schedule updates and changes to project teams and stakeholders
- Use scheduling software to create and manage project timelines
- Prepare regular schedule-status reports highlighting deviations or risks
- Analyze schedules to identify trends and improvement areas
- Ensure compliance with organizational scheduling policies and procedures
- Set up Microsoft Project projects, including dates, calendars, and working times
- Create, organize, and link tasks; set constraints, deadlines, and milestones
- Define, categorize, and assign resources and manage resource availability
- Apply effort-driven scheduling and Critical Path Method, including primary, secondary, and tertiary critical paths
- Resolve resource overallocations using Resource Graph, Resource Usage, and leveling methods
- Set and manage baselines
- Update task progress and dates using real-world data
- Perform variance analysis by comparing baseline and actuals
- Customize and save project views and reports
- Share and export project plans through Microsoft Office integrations
- Support US Navy contracts focused mainly on production of MK48 MOD 7 torpedo hardware and related production efforts
Requirements:
- HS/GED and ten (10) years' experience; Or Associates and eight (8) years' experience; Or Bachelors and six (6) years' experience; Or Masters and four (4) years’ experience
- Proficiency with scheduling software, with a strong preference placed on MS Project
- Experience in project planning/scheduling
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Applications, and integration between Office and Project
- Understanding of critical path methodology
- Knowledge of earned value management (EVM)
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be eligible to obtain security clearance; existing clearance status preferred but not required
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment and operate entrepreneurially and collaboratively to accomplish deliverables
