Job Description
Psychotherapist providing gender, sexuality, and relationship-focused therapy through a New York group private practice. Building a caseload of individual, couples, partnership, and family clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide competent and knowledgeable psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, partnerships, and families
- Conduct phone consultations
- Provide psychotherapy services to individual, couples, multiple-partner relationship, and family clients
- Maintain case notes, logs, and required documentation
- Provide group therapy as needed
- Participate in weekly/biweekly individual supervision and available weekly group clinical supervision
- Write a blog four times per year, optionally
- Assist in creating and implementing G&STC workshops, training, and seminars as opportunities arise
- Perform marketing tasks for self and G&STC as needed or interested
- Build and manage a caseload, with full-time roles generally involving 25 completed sessions per week and part-time roles approximately 18 sessions
Requirements:
- Possess an LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R, MHC, or LMHC and be licensed in New York
- Resides in NY or NJ
- Commit to a minimum of 3 years with G&STC
- Education, training, and demonstrated success in implementing modalities such as CBT, IFS, mindfulness treatments, trauma-informed practices, somatic treatments, and psychodynamic psychotherapy
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- At least 1 year of experience in assessment, treatment planning, and providing psychotherapy
- At least 1 year of experience providing individual, couples, multiple-partner relationships, and/or family therapy
- At least 1 year of experience providing therapy to LGBTQ+, kinky, and non-monogamous individuals
- At least 1 year of experience providing therapy for sexual-related issues such as sexual anxiety, sexual functioning, sexual pain, and compulsive sexual behaviors
- High level of competence with gender, sex, and sexuality, with expertise regarding LGBTQ+ folks, alt sexualities, and sexual-related issues
- Organized and able to submit progress notes and respond to emails in a timely manner in accordance with G&STC policies
- Cover letter and resume required
- Therapists with their own private practices or working in another group practice will not be considered
