Job Description
QA Engineer II testing MPulse web, API, and database platforms. Creating test plans, tracking JIRA defects, and supporting production troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Write, manage, and execute functional, integration, API, and user acceptance testing plans
- Plan test cases based on business and functional/technical requirements
- Perform exploratory and targeted manual testing to identify issues
- Participate in sprint planning and requirements review meetings
- Troubleshoot application and system issues
- Identify, document, and track bug tickets in JIRA
- Communicate with developers and product managers to identify system requirements
- Provide guidance to non-technical team members researching technical issues
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues alongside Reliability Engineering, DevOps, and Application Development teams
- Analyze test results and report outcomes
- Verify Web, API, and database platforms
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience testing web-based and API systems
- At least 3 years of work experience in software development and testing
- Hands-on experience designing and executing functional, GUI, and API tests
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, efficient testing strategies, and modern best practices
- Understanding of all phases of SDLC, especially Agile/SCRUM environment
- Working knowledge of ChromeDevTool, Postman, and TestRail
- Experience creating detailed test plans/test cases covering positive and negative scenarios
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent level of industry experience
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with product developers, direct manager, and engineering peers
- Responsiveness to assigned bugs/hotfixes
- Basic understanding of MPulse’s business
- Successful participation in completion and release of production builds
- Ability to have work reviewed by senior QA engineers and apply feedback
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. weight
