Job Description

Quality Assurance Engineer testing Speer Technologies’ innovative software products. Creating automated tests, tracking bugs, and improving development quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual and virtual testing on a variety of devices
  • Document test results for the software development team
  • Create tests to identify software problems
  • Motivate the development process for performance and efficiency
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry advancements and trends
  • Work alongside software developers to improve and enhance programs
  • Analyze errors and bugs found during tests
  • Research and compare similar competitor products
  • Review specifications, requirements, and technical design documents
  • Investigate causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
  • Estimate, plan, prioritize, and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools
  • Identify, record, document, and track bugs
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  • Communicate with internal teams to identify system requirements
  • Monitor debugging process results
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved

Requirements:

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Basic JavaScript skills
  • Familiarity with Git
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Experience writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools like Cypress
  • Good knowledge of database systems and scripting
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing
  • French fluency is an asset
  • French is not required
