Job Description

Remote Rating Specialist pricing new and renewal commercial insurance transactions for CNA. Supporting underwriters across Middle Market and Specialty Lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle New Business and/or Renewal Rating transactions for two or more lines of business within Middle Market or Specialty Lines
  • Review incoming business transactions and related information for completeness, accuracy, and quality
  • Work with Underwriters, Underwriting Technicians, or Associates to resolve discrepancies and process transactions in a timely manner
  • Perform rating for New or Renewal business quotes across multiple lines of business
  • Perform manual rating functions for non-system-supported coverages
  • Gather third-party data and insurance application data for predictive modeling tools supporting risk selection and pricing decisions
  • Review exposures, loss experience, and other account information to ensure accurate data entry into underwriting tools and models
  • Review department processing guidelines and procedures and recommend modifications as necessary
  • Determine workflow activities required to process insurance policies based on line of business
  • Respond to policy service requests from Underwriters, Underwriter Associates, and/or Underwriting Technicians across multiple lines of Middle Market business
  • Act as a resource for less experienced peers
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Report to a Supervisor or above

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Typically, at least 3 years of multi-line Commercial Specialty lines or prior Rating/Underwriting experience
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and products and services such as Auto, Workers Comp, Package, and Specialty lines within Commercial business
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven performance against goals and metrics
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work with a demonstrated sense of urgency
  • Vast knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with proficient experience directly within Excel and other business-related software
  • Ability to analyze available data, guidelines, and metrics to make logical, well-informed, creative, and effective decisions
  • Takes ownership and accountability for resolving issues in a timely manner
