Job Description
Remote Rating Specialist pricing new and renewal commercial insurance transactions for CNA. Supporting underwriters across Middle Market and Specialty Lines.
Responsibilities:
- Handle New Business and/or Renewal Rating transactions for two or more lines of business within Middle Market or Specialty Lines
- Review incoming business transactions and related information for completeness, accuracy, and quality
- Work with Underwriters, Underwriting Technicians, or Associates to resolve discrepancies and process transactions in a timely manner
- Perform rating for New or Renewal business quotes across multiple lines of business
- Perform manual rating functions for non-system-supported coverages
- Gather third-party data and insurance application data for predictive modeling tools supporting risk selection and pricing decisions
- Review exposures, loss experience, and other account information to ensure accurate data entry into underwriting tools and models
- Review department processing guidelines and procedures and recommend modifications as necessary
- Determine workflow activities required to process insurance policies based on line of business
- Respond to policy service requests from Underwriters, Underwriter Associates, and/or Underwriting Technicians across multiple lines of Middle Market business
- Act as a resource for less experienced peers
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Report to a Supervisor or above
Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Typically, at least 3 years of multi-line Commercial Specialty lines or prior Rating/Underwriting experience
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and products and services such as Auto, Workers Comp, Package, and Specialty lines within Commercial business
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven performance against goals and metrics
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work with a demonstrated sense of urgency
- Vast knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with proficient experience directly within Excel and other business-related software
- Ability to analyze available data, guidelines, and metrics to make logical, well-informed, creative, and effective decisions
- Takes ownership and accountability for resolving issues in a timely manner
