Job Description

Regional Sales Director driving voluntary benefits sales through brokers, agents, and consultants. Growing Trustmark’s employer-benefits business through consultative selling, pipeline management, and Salesforce reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Increase new business sales through strong, consultative partnerships with worksite and voluntary benefit distributors
  • Learn and stay informed on health care trends, market intelligence and voluntary-benefit product information
  • Establish, update and manage target account lists and pipeline management
  • Follow a comprehensive sales process including marketing programs, educational seminars, customer needs analysis meetings and presentations
  • Develop new accounts and expand existing accounts
  • Manage external and internal stakeholders throughout the sales process
  • Contribute to sales planning, forecasting and product development
  • Achieve assigned annual new business sales, net growth and reenrollment objectives
  • Demonstrate the value proposition to distribution partners
  • Direct and manage the acquisition process and serve as liaison between producers and customers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Sales Implementation, Key Account Managers, Case Underwriting and Marketing
  • Generate new business through existing relationships, new relationship prospecting, market analysis and cold calling channel distributors
  • Partner with marketing and product development to educate the network channel and create marketplace demand
  • Identify sales opportunities, influence RFP design and develop solutions to secure new business
  • Monitor and report on competition
  • Use Salesforce.com for activity reporting, forecasting, business requests, workflow management, travel bookings and expense reporting
  • Provide monthly pipeline, forecast and metrics reports using Salesforce automation tools
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned

Requirements:

  • 5 years of Voluntary product sales or equivalent work experience
  • Consultative sales experience required
  • Experience generating and analyzing reports to enhance sales or customer experience
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, make good decisions consistent with divisional objectives and in a timely manner, and handle conflict with minimal oversight
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Commitment to follow through and complete assignments in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to establish and maintain mutually respectful relationships with managers, peers, support staff, agents/brokers and customers
  • Ability to handle conflict, resolve complex issues, negotiate, achieve consensus and promote team spirit
  • Capable of operating the complete MS Office Suite
