Job Description
Junior researcher analyzing education intervention data for IRC’s humanitarian programs. Supporting implementation research, randomized trials, and accessible findings for practitioner and policy audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research activities across multiple education research projects
- Clean, organize, manage, and analyze data while ensuring data quality and integrity
- Produce high-quality reports for diverse audiences
- Support implementation research studies assessing delivery, quality, fidelity, and potential cost-effectiveness of education interventions
- Support randomized control trials assessing intervention impacts on children’s foundational learning and wellbeing
- Contribute to internal education research priorities under senior researcher supervision
- Draft reports, briefs, and blog posts for practitioner and policy audiences
- Collaborate with Education, Research, R&D, and other IRC departments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- MA required in Education, Economics, Statistics, or related field
- Excellent knowledge of quantitative research methods, including inferential statistics and qualitative approaches
- Exposure to implementation research and causal inference
- Demonstrated experience in data cleaning, management, and analysis
- Proficiency in at least one statistical or data analysis tool, such as Stata, R, or Python
- Familiarity with qualitative data methods such as thematic analysis and content analysis desirable
- Up to three years of experience in research, data analysis, or a related field; relevant internship, academic research, or volunteer experience considered
- Strong written communication skills and ability to present research findings clearly to non-specialist audiences
- Experience drafting reports, summaries, or briefs is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Fluent in English required
- Proficiency in French or Arabic preferred
- Candidates must be based in Colombia, Kenya, or the United States of America and have the right to work in their location
