Job Description

Retirement plan sales specialist acquiring 401(k) and 403(b) clients for Mutual of America Financial Group. Managing territories, cold outreach, cross-selling, and client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Mutual of America Financial Group in a sales and marketing capacity to clients and prospects in an assigned territory
  • Solicit new group takeover plans and cross-sell other products
  • Set qualified appointments with 401(k) and 403(b) plan sponsors through cold calling, networking, and referrals
  • Cultivate new prospects within a geographic territory
  • Cross-sell solutions and reach or exceed goals by closing deals
  • Attend client review meetings with the Customer Relationship Manager for the top five to ten clients in the territory
  • Ask clients for introductions and serve as a reference for sales opportunities
  • Report to the Regional Vice President and collaborate with the Retirement Plan Specialist team

Requirements:

  • 0–2 years of outside business-to-business sales experience
  • Proven efficiency in selling, presenting, prospecting, and territory management
  • Driven to make outbound cold calls to prospective clients
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Strategic thinker able to work independently
  • Strong relationship management-building skills
  • Active FINRA Series 6, 63, and SIE licenses, or must obtain them within the first 180 days of employment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated cold-calling sales ability preferred
  • Knowledge of retirement products, including 401(k) and 403(b) plans, preferred
