Job Description

Sales Associate developing paint and coatings expertise for Benjamin Moore. Supporting territory sales, customer relationships, product training, and revenue growth across Philadelphia.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop expert knowledge and skills about Benjamin Moore products, programs, and services
  • Learn all aspects of the paint and coatings industry by working alongside R&D, Marketing, Sales Operations, Manufacturing & Distribution, Color and Design, and retailer professionals
  • Attend internal and external product and sales training
  • Participate in market-wide selling events and professional networking events
  • Apply paints and coatings to various substrates and diagnose and troubleshoot product performance issues
  • Become a Brand Ambassador and embody Benjamin Moore's mission and values
  • Assume Territory Representative responsibilities after onboarding and demonstrated competency
  • Support Territory Representatives in meeting sales goals by calling on lower-volume customers to sell products and programs
  • Cover assigned territories within the region for vacation absences and short- and long-term leaves
  • Manage temporarily assigned territories, including scheduling, territory organization, and CRM/enterprise systems
  • Drive sales, increase profitability, and close sales opportunities
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through a consultative, customer-centric approach
  • Establish expertise for customers through technical knowledge, business acumen, and customer engagement
  • Cultivate new business alongside experienced Territory Representatives
  • Assist in architectural and industrial product training, sales blitzes, promotional campaigns, and other assigned duties

Requirements:

  • Very strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills
  • Excellent relationship management and team interaction skills
  • Friendly, outgoing, confident, and enthusiastic
  • Self-starter, committed to the task, and independent worker
  • Demonstrated passion for servicing customers and creating solutions
  • Comfortable speaking in front of small to medium-sized groups in a professional setting
  • Desire to develop sales skills and product knowledge
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to learn Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to building a career path
  • Able and willing to relocate within a designated region and relocate to the assigned territory after the Sales Associate program concludes
  • Must be available for up to 80% travel, sometimes overnight
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • A four-year college degree preferred, or a combination of 4 years of college and customer-facing work experience
