Job Description

Worksite Sales Director growing broker-distributed employee and supplemental insurance benefits for AFBA and 5Star Life. Managing broker relationships, new-business onboarding, and sales strategy across assigned U.S. territories.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive business growth by researching, identifying, and attracting new employer group and supplemental insurance business through the broker distributed model
  • Maintain strong client relations beyond the sale
  • Develop relationships and broker-enabled sales of worksite voluntary benefits in target markets
  • Serve as a visible leader to related functional areas
  • Implement sales strategy and initiatives supporting business-unit growth
  • Build, develop, and monetize broker relationships through consultative selling
  • Manage time and work product to achieve sales goals and activity metrics
  • Coordinate with Account Managers on new-business intake using enrollment technology platforms, file formats, and related tools
  • Partner with Technology Specialists to ensure proper enrollment technology and group setup before enrollment
  • Assist Client Concierge, Account Manager, and Case Manager with billing and remittance setup issues
  • Participate in quality-control reviews and audits
  • Coordinate group setup, onboarding activities, workflows, and takeaway items with internal stakeholders
  • Participate in account-management, re-enrollment-strategy, and administrative-structure meetings
  • Ensure group paperwork, including agent contracting, is completed and entered accurately before enrollment and processing of new-business applications
  • Travel to work with brokers and outside partners

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Three (3) years’ experience in employee benefit sales or client facing activities
  • Resident L&H licensing in active, good standing
  • Proven track record of excellent customer relations and problem solving
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Strong communication, organizational, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and a Contact Management System
  • Practical, articulate, and creative with the ability to solve difficult business problems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in multiple onboarding/administrative systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment, demonstrating leadership qualities
  • Familiarity with industry resources, group product quoting protocols, and existing broker relationships
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, primarily within the continental US
  • Ability to travel at least 10 business days per month to work with brokers and other outside partners
