Job Description
SAP ABAP developer designing and supporting complex systems for AAA’s insurance, travel, and financial services operations. Delivering specifications, documentation, and secure business solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a team leader or technical contributor in planning, designing, developing, implementing, and supporting moderately complex processes, systems, networks, or components of larger systems
- Ensure timely, high-quality deliverables and support service level objectives
- Develop system specifications, prototypes, and documentation in accordance with IS standards
- Partner with Security to support audit controls and procedures protecting company resources
- Define functional requirements to meet business needs
- Work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Travel occasionally for meetings, collaborative activities, or team-building activities if specified by leadership
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent level of work experience
- Experience designing, developing, implementing, or supporting moderately complex information systems or complex maintenance projects
- Experience building or supporting mainframe, distributed, or Web-based systems
- Experience with structured systems analysis, design, programming, and testing
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving business/technical problems
- Experience monitoring tasks, recording progress, adjusting to project changes, and meeting deadlines
- Experience with user interaction and facilitation
- Experience with mainframe, distributed, and/or Web-based system design and development
- Experience with database management systems, including IMS DB, DB2, and SQL Server
- PC fundamentals, including MS Office
- Programming languages, including COBOL II, Java, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, and XML
- Online communication technologies, including IMS DC and CICS
- System development tools, including Endevor, IMS Expert, Xpediter, SQA Team Test, VisualAge for Java, WebSphere Studio, IBM Jade, and Eclipse
- Operating systems, including MVS, Windows, and UNIX
- Database design
- Local area networks and network communication
- Knowledge of systems operations practices
- Knowledge of security and control procedures
- Knowledge of systems development methodologies
- Ability to evaluate moderately complex systems and understand interdependencies between components
- Ability to lead teams in a matrix organization
- Preferred: development methodologies
- Preferred: Joint Application Design (JAD)/Rapid Application Design (RAD) techniques
- Preferred: database modeling
- Ability to pass required background and drug screening
- Regular and reliable attendance
