Job Description
Onboarding Senior Accountant onboarding nonprofit clients and performing accounting cleanup at Chazin. Preparing reconciliations, financial statements, audits, grants, and regulatory filings remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in onboarding new clients and ensure their financial transactions have been properly recorded
- Provide comprehensive accounting services, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger management
- Prepare month-end close workbooks for multiple clients, including balance sheet reconciliations and monthly financial statements
- Track and report restricted funds to prepare a net asset roll forward
- Assist with grant management and reporting
- Manage audits, including single audits, by preparing schedules, supporting the audit and coordinating final schedules
- Assist with 990 preparation and other local, state and federal filings
- Produce specialized reporting to support client decision-making
- Organize and maintain client files, including prior-year audit and tax records
- Work under the guidance of the controller on analysis, cash flow and budget preparation
- Provide proactive client communication and exceptional customer service
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- A minimum of five years general accounting experience
- Multiple client or multiple entity experience preferred
- CPA licensure preferred
- Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Extensive experience with data management, record keeping and web-based applications
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, QuickBooks Online and NetSuite preferred
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
- Experience in audit preparation
- Ability to function well in a team-oriented virtual environment
- Desire and ability to become proficient with SAGE Intacct and other third-party applications
- Ability to work from home professionally and independently
- Nonprofit accounting experience preferred
