Job Description

Commercial operations analyst optimizing pricing, rebates, master data, and analytics. Supporting Clearwater Paper’s North American paperboard packaging business through data-driven commercial strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial operations, advanced analytics, and governance of pricing, customer, rebate, freight, and master data processes
  • Develop advanced reporting, dashboards, and analytics covering sales performance, revenue, pricing, inventory, order activity, customer profitability, and commercial effectiveness
  • Analyze commercial and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers
  • Provide recommendations to sales leadership and serve as a trusted advisor to commercial leadership
  • Lead ad hoc analyses and business modeling for strategic planning, pricing decisions, customer initiatives, and operational improvements
  • Investigate data and reporting discrepancies, determine root causes, and drive timely resolution
  • Support audits through accurate reporting, documentation, and analytical evidence
  • Govern commercial pricing, freight, customer agreements, payment terms, rebates, and Commercial Information Request processes
  • Lead rebate administration, including validation, calculation, reporting, approvals, and payment processing
  • Manage commercial master data, customer setup, routing, pricing, product configurations, and related system data
  • Establish and monitor controls, documentation, and governance standards for commercial systems
  • Resolve complex commercial operations issues and improve processes
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements
  • Partner with sales, finance, supply chain, customer service, and other cross-functional teams
  • Deliver training, guidance, and knowledge-sharing while championing standardization and continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial operations, sales operations, business analytics, or related functions
  • 2+ years of experience with pricing administration, rebate management, master data, and commercial analytics
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools used for reporting, modeling, and business decision support
  • Proficiency with ERP, CRM, reporting, and commercial operations systems
  • Ability to quickly learn and optimize new technologies and processes, including Elixir, CRM/SalesTrackR, Candesce, and EdiStok
  • Travel less than 10%
  • Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States
  • Must not require Clearwater Paper's sponsorship for continued legal work authorization in the United States
  • Ability to comply with safety procedures and use PPE when entering manufacturing, warehouse, or operational areas
