Job Description

Senior Application Security Engineer hunting vulnerabilities in Clover Health’s AI-enabled healthcare platform. Hardening systems, protecting PHI, and raising secure-coding standards across engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively hunt for and close security vulnerabilities across Counterpart Assistant using varied tools and self-written scripts to map real attacks
  • Harden systems, services, and endpoints around the platform
  • Establish strong security monitoring of services and the technology stack
  • Safeguard PHI and monitor deidentification practices
  • Identify and close paths where protected data could leak
  • Use AI agents and frameworks to scale vulnerability discovery with defined guardrails
  • Help the engineering organization build safely as the AI threat landscape evolves
  • Review critical pull requests across teams
  • Run security training and mentor engineers on secure coding
  • Partner with site reliability engineering, engineering leadership, and corporate security teams on defensive strategies
  • Strengthen resilience and ensure disaster recovery is strong

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in software engineering
  • 4+ years focused on application security, vulnerability research, and penetration testing
  • Demonstrated ability to identify vulnerabilities with custom tooling
  • Continuous day-to-day use of AI to find vulnerabilities
  • Knowledge of a range of AI tools, agents, and frameworks
  • Understanding of appropriate AI security guardrails
  • Ability to write code throughout the stack
  • Comfort with multiple programming languages
  • Ability to balance security with the needs of engineers, clinicians, and operators
  • Experience mentoring engineers into better security practices
  • Experience working on software that touches patient care
