Job Description
Senior Java Backend Developer building high-volume APIs for NymCard’s payments infrastructure platform. Delivering secure, scalable payment features across engineering, DevOps, and product teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement high-volume, low-latency APIs
- Engage with Engineering, DevOps, and Marketing teams throughout design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
- Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large scale
- Build scalable, secure solutions that power frictionless payments
- Collaborate in a trustful, agile environment
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5+ years of software development experience working with distributed projects and technologies (Java)
- Hands-on experience with team management/leadership
- Experience with any NoSQL/RDBMS (Mongo, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL etc.)
- Awareness of application security principles including secure coding standards and practices
- Familiarity with API design and architectural patterns (API Gateway, OpenAPI, REST)
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Experience with stream-processing systems such as Apache Kafka, Amazon SQS, Google Cloud Pub/Sub
- Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher English level
- Agile/Scrum knowledge and estimation practices
- Experience in payments and ISO8583 message format would be a plus
- Experience with HSM (Thales preferred) would be a plus
- Knowledge of PCI Compliance standards would be a plus
- Knowledge of CI/CD would be a plus
- Knowledge of Kubernetes would be a plus
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Google, AWS, Azure) and Docker would be a plus
