Job Description
Senior Backend Engineer building scalable backend systems and APIs for Ox Security’s AI-driven cybersecurity platform. Improving performance, reliability, and security across cloud-native infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend systems and APIs
- Collaborate with Product, Frontend, and other engineering teams on system architecture and requirements
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with minimal downtime
- Lead code reviews and promote best engineering practices
- Mentor and support junior engineers
- Continuously improve system design, reliability, and development processes
- Build infrastructure that powers the platform at scale
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in backend development
- Active and proficient use of AI tools (e.g., Copilot, LLMs) to streamline coding practices, accelerate learning curves, and optimize workflows
- Strong experience building scalable, production-grade systems
- Proficiency in Node.js
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and microservices architecture
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Bonus: Experience in the cybersecurity, SaaS, or Cloud Security domain
- Bonus: Hands-on experience with modern cloud environments (AWS/GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes
