Job Description
Senior Backend Engineer building Kotlin/Java lending systems for Tilt’s Brazilian credit business. Scaling APIs and integrations for salary advance, FGTS, and consignado products.
Responsibilities:
- Build and scale backend systems behind salary advance, FGTS, and consignado lending
- Develop and refine APIs powering an instant in-app experience
- Work on payroll-linked and FGTS lending integrations
- Collaborate directly with product, credit, compliance, and analytics teams
- Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and team standards for quality, security, and operational excellence
- Share knowledge with junior engineers and improve team effectiveness
Requirements:
- 4+ years of backend engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of meaningful work
- Strong experience with Kotlin and/or Java
- Solid working knowledge of AWS, PostgreSQL, and ECS
- Experience building consumer-facing systems at real transaction volumes
- Fluent Portuguese
- Advanced English (C1), written and spoken
- Comfortable using AI-powered development tools, such as Claude
- Fintech, lending, payments, or regulated environment experience is a strong plus
