Job Description
Senior Epic Cogito analyst developing healthcare reporting and visualization solutions for Saint Francis’s revenue cycle systems. Building enterprise data tools, metrics, dashboards, and Epic reporting configurations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide analysis, programming, testing, troubleshooting, modification, and implementation of reporting and visualization tools
- Interpret request specifications and customer needs to create, modify, or change data analytics solutions
- Maintain report content through system upgrades and resolve production problems with supported reporting configurations
- Document and communicate programs and projects with project leadership, supported teams, and operations
- Mentor team members in finding and implementing reporting solutions
- Partner with departmental and business team members as an advanced subject matter expert to resolve high-priority analytical concerns
- Visualize data meaningfully to communicate findings and required actions
- Develop data visualization designs according to institutional standards
- Lead enterprise deployment of data visualization tools
- Gather, document, and build complex business logic for metrics into datasets for ad hoc use
- Collaborate with training teams to develop job aids and training documents
- Work with data stewards and data architects to populate, automate, and maintain metadata tables, columns, metrics, reports, and dashboards
- Build and leverage Epic reporting tools to fulfill reporting requests
- Assist with small- to medium-complexity software installations and enhancement requests, including coding, testing, debugging, design, and implementation
- Collaborate on environment upgrades, release notes, and maintenance of reporting functions
- Implement changes according to established departmental procedures
- Research and plan analytic solutions for existing and new organizational issues
- Coordinate activities and lead others without supervisory responsibility
- Work with internal and external customers, healthcare professionals, staff, and Director-level or above individuals
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
- Certification in Epic Cogito, Epic Clarity, and Epic Caboodle
- One applicable Data Model certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data analytics, data management, software development, or information technology in a healthcare environment
- Experience with data visualization development tools
- Detailed knowledge of healthcare and hospital business operations
- Expert knowledge of Epic’s reporting suite of analytical tools
- Working knowledge of Epic’s reporting suite of application tools
- Strong programming, analytical, and computational skills
- Significant skills with data quality, data profiling, metadata management, and reporting
- Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple management levels
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines
- Ability to synthesize and integrate information
